Fred G. Marziano,
Principal
Formerly, President of Insurance Perspectives
& Solutions, Fred brings many years of leadership and success
in the property and casualty insurance and reinsurance businesses
to CIM.* During those years, he gained a reputation as an industry
visionary, pioneering innovative marketing strategies, achieving
dramatic turnarounds of two companies and building a third from
zero to $2.3 billion in just two years.
Over the course of his career, Fred has assessed
more than 75 property and casualty insurers in the process of building
and restructuring companies through acquisition. He knows what to
look for in evaluating fiscal and operational strength. He also
knows how to restore strength when difficulties arise. In transforming
the companies he ran and advised, Fred introduced new products and
channels, drove down combined ratios, and dramatically improved
customer satisfaction and financial results.
Highly regarded by his peers throughout the industry,
Fred has served as President of Continental Insurance Companies,
Founder & President of Liberty Mutual Agency Markets Group,
President and CEO of Gerling Global Reinsurance Corp. of America
and on the boards and/or executive committees of several insurance
companies and industry organizations, including the Insurance Services
Office, American Institute for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters,
Reinsurance Association of America, National Council on Compensation
Insurance, the Association of California Insurance Companies, and
Delphi Systems and Inroads, Inc., a job-training program for disadvantaged
youth.
Kimberly Paterson, Principal
Kimberly has been building businesses her entire
career. She founded CIM at the age of 22 and grew the company into
the top insurance strategic marketing consulting and research firm
in the US. Her expertise is in vision and strategy development, branding,
customer insight research and customer relationship management,
product innovation, communication, and leveraging individual and
organizational energy.
She "cut her teeth" in insurance creating
business development strategies for agents and brokers. She played
a key role in creating the first association-sponsored agent advertising/marketing
service for the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents.
Her hands-on knowledge of distributors and their clients enabled
her to build a loyal following among independent agency-oriented
insurance carriers. The business took off from there.
Over the years, Kimberly has worked with leaders
in every facet of the insurance industry. She has conducted customer
insight research and developed business strategies for key industry
players including: Travelers, Aetna, Marsh, Wells Fargo Bank, Selective
Insurance Company, Fireman's Fund, One Beacon, The American Insurance
Association and CNA.
In her work with executives on implementing vision
and strategy changes, Kimberly became a student of successful change initiatives. She built extensive
expertise in what it takes to change personal and corporate energy.
She earned her credentials as a Certified Energy Leadership Coach
and Certified Core Energy Coach.
Kimberly is a member of the Insurance Marketing
Communications Association, International Association of Business
Communicators, Public Relations Society of America, and the International
Coaching Federation. A recognized authority on insurance marketing
and leadership issues, she is a regular contributor to Best's
Review, Best Week, Rough Notes and Business Insurance.
